This is a generalist HR opportunity that will play a key role in supporting a division of the group, circa 600/700 employees base. You will build a pipeline of future talent from within, support the business as it transforms in terms of advancements in technology and cultural impact and grow engagement within the teams, for the future success of the business.

The Role:
As a People Business Partner, you’ll work closely with senior leadership teams, providing strategic support and expert advice across all people-related matters. You’ll help drive business performance through strong collaboration, developing and delivering people plans, leading on organisational design activities, and building leadership capability. You’ll be a true partner to the business, influencing key decisions and ensuring a strong, values-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with senior leaders to develop people strategies aligned with business goals.

Advise and coach leadership on performance management, organisational design, reward, talent management, and employee relations.

Lead succession planning, workforce planning, and employee engagement initiatives.

Analyse business insights and workforce data to drive people strategy and manage risks.

Champion organisational change projects, embedding new ways of working and ensuring smooth transitions.

Collaborate with centres of expertise (Recruitment, Reward, L&D) to deliver a comprehensive HR service.

Support and engage with the Employee Forum on key initiatives.

About You:
You are an experienced HR/People Business Partner, confident in partnering at Executive and Senior Leadership levels. 

You bring strong commercial acumen, excellent judgement, and up-to-date knowledge across all generalist HR areas, including UK employment law.

You're passionate about building a high-performance culture and can navigate complex ER issues with pragmatism and professionalism.

People Business Partner

HR Administrator (9-Month FTC – Maternity Cover)
Start date: Early June 2025 (latest)
Working Pattern: On-site 5 days a week (flexibility possible post-probation)
Salary: £26,000–£27,000 per annum
Location: Cambridge – Supporting 120 UK employees

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain up-to-date employee records in the HRIS, ensuring data confidentiality
Support new hire processes including documentation and inductions
Administer employee lifecycle changes (promotions, terminations, benefits)
Collate and submit monthly payroll data accurately and on time
Manage health-related admin (eye tests, vaccinations) with external providers
Ensure compliance with UK employment law and company policies
Communicate HR updates and initiatives clearly across the business

Provide ad-hoc support to the Senior Leadership Team:
Take meeting minutes
Arrange travel and training
Support with expenses and event logistics
Help coordinate employee training sessions and keep records updated
Assist with billing and invoice queries related to SLT and site activities

What We’re Looking For
CIPD qualified or working towards it (or equivalent experience)
Familiarity with UK employment legislation and basic HR processes
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and OneDrive
Previous use of HRIS systems and a desire to improve workflows
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused attitude
Motivated self-starter who thrives under pressure
Team player who enjoys supporting others and working collaboratively

Are you an ER Specialist or HR Generalist with strong ER knowledge and expertise? We are looking for an Employee Relations Specialist to join our client's fast-paced and dynamic HR Services team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is an immediate start role, covering an increase in workload and sickness absence.

In this role, you will manage a full spectrum of ER cases, providing expert advice and guidance to managers while ensuring compliance with employment law, policies, and best practices. If you're an experienced ER or HR Advisor who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys delivering a high-quality advisory service, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing:
Providing expert ER advice to managers on all aspects of employee relations, including disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, and performance management.
Managing a caseload of approximately 30 ER cases, including complex employment law challenges.
Coaching and mentoring managers, helping them assess risk and make informed decisions.
Responding to employee concerns and queries with a customer-focused approach.
Drafting outcome letters and supporting tribunal preparation, including case documentation.
Delivering ER workshops to upskill managers and improve ER best practices.
Ensuring accurate record-keeping in the HR system and compliance with service level agreements.

What We’re Looking For:
ER or HR Advisor with demonstrable experience handling end-to-end ER cases.
Strong knowledge of employment law and its commercial application.
Experience writing outcome letters and supporting tribunals.
CIPD Level 3-5 (or equivalent) or working towards qualification.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide balanced and constructive advice.
Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong relationship-building skills to support and guide managers.
