Description
SEMH Teaching Assistant| Wigan area | from £89 per day | Full-time
Axcis are an education agency specialising in providing special educational needs support across the country and we are looking to recruit a reliable and enthusiastic teaching assistant for a Secondary SEMH school in the Wigan area.
About the role:
• Full-time position
• Working with children with complex SEMH and behavioural needs
• Working hours are 8:30am-3:30pm
• Small class sizes of no more than 8 children
This school caters exclusively to children with an EHCP who have a range of SEMH and challenging behaviour. It is a nurturing school that works to support each child’s individual needs, whilst also giving them the life skills to be able to thrive when they leave education.
The ideal candidate would have the following experience:
• Experience working in an SEMH setting or with extreme challenging behaviour
• A calm and consistent approach to managing behaviour, even in extremely challenging situations
• Must have class or school setting experience
The school is located in the WN2 area. There may be occasions where candidates are required to support students in an educational hub off-site so ideally, candidates will be able to drive as the location can be difficult to reach. If candidates are planning to use public transport to commute, they will need to be prepared to travel for a prolonged period of time due to the limited public transport links.
