Axcis Education are supporting an independent SEND provision in Newton Abbot, who are looking for a full time Mathematics Teacher (or Unqualified Mathematics Teacher/Tutor).
Job Overview
•To deliver bespoke Mathematics lessons to a post 16 student with ASD and complex needs on a 1:1 basis.
•The working hours for this role are from 8.30 to 4:30
•The rate of pay is between £135-£185 a day, depending on your SEND experience and qualifications.
•This is a permanent position (temp to perm - annual salary between £23,256 -£29,250).
The successful candidate will design and deliver personalised science lessons that meet the student’s individual learning needs, interests and aspirations. You will be part of a highly supportive team that works collaboratively to help every learner overcome barriers and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
•Deliver engaging and tailored Mathematics lessons on a 1:1 basis.
•Support the educational and personal development of a post-16 student with ASD and complex needs.
•Work collaboratively with colleagues and therapists to provide a holistic learning experience.
•Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
•Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary or college level.
•Qualified Mathematics Teachers (QTS or equivalent) are encouraged to apply.
•Unqualified Maths Teachers with relevant SEND experience are also welcome.
•Experience working with vulnerable young people or learners with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
•A nurturing, patient and positive approach to building relationships with students.
