Job Title: Full-Time 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Year 3 (SE5)
Location: SE5, South London
Hours: Full-Time, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday)
Start Date: Trial to take place after the half-term break
About the Role:
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in SE5 is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil on a full-time basis. The pupil joined the school from a PRU in December and requires consistent, structured support throughout the school day. He has a diagnosis of ADHD and presents with challenging behaviour, alongside significant academic delays.
This role is ideal for someone with a calm, patient, and resilient approach who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for the Year 3 pupil across the curriculum
- Implement tailored strategies to manage behaviour and maintain engagement
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
- Promote positive social and emotional development
- Track progress and contribute to reports and reviews
Essential Requirements:
- A university degree
- Proven experience working with children, preferably in a school setting
- References evidencing direct experience supporting children
- Strong understanding of ADHD and behaviour management strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
