Technical Data Manager
Job Summary:
The Technical Data Manager will be responsible for ensuring data governance, quality control, and serving as a key enabler for PMO operations through the administration of supporting tools and platforms. Daily duties include overseeing data storage and maintenance, coordinating with project teams, and maintaining data systems. In addition, the role requires technical expertise in administering collaboration and project management environments—such as SharePoint to streamline PMO workflows, reporting, version control, and agile execution.
Specific responsibilities involve supporting the development and maintenance of SharePoint, administering PMO collaboration environments, and leading new initiatives related to SharePoint. The role requires strong analytical skills, technical proficiency with data and project management tools, and excellent communication to effectively report and address actions, issues, and lessons learned. Additionally, ensures SharePoint groups and permissions are developed and maintained and supports the PMO with documentation and configuration control.
The position is expected to be onsite at the Customer Site.
Daily Duties
• Ensure adherence to governance policies, standards, and PMO processes.
• Oversee the collection, storage, and maintenance of data across project systems.
• Administer SharePoint environments, including:
o Managing groups, permissions, and access controls.
o Creating and maintaining lists, libraries, metadata, and versioning.
o Building workflows, views, and web parts to automate PMO processes.
• Support Jira administration to enable agile execution, including:
o Configuring boards, workflows, fields, and reporting dashboards.
o Maintaining sprint cadences and backlog structures.
• Provide PMO support for documentation control, deliverable tracking, and reporting.
• Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and status updates to leadership.
• Maintain detailed documentation of SharePoint, Jira, and data management configurations.
• Provide training and mentorship to staff on SharePoint, Jira, and PMO processes.
Responsibilities
• Align PMO tool configurations (SharePoint, Jira) with project objectives and governance.
• Support configuration management (CM) by ensuring complete documentation of project deliverables, decisions, and baselines.
• Generate and present CM and PMO status reports to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers, technical leads, and PMO functional staff to ensure configuration and documentation requirements are met.
• Drive improvements in PMO reporting, workflows, and automation through SharePoint and Jira.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education
• BS degree and 7–10 years of prior relevant experience, or Masters with 5–8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Prior NATO experience or familiarity with NATO standards highly advantageous.
• Hands-on administration of SharePoint, including permissions, workflows, lists/libraries, web parts, and dashboards.
• Experience administering Jira in agile project environments, including workflow and board configuration, reporting, and permissions.
• Knowledge of PMO processes, including document management, deliverable tracking, and configuration control.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, PMP).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must currently hold and be able to maintain a NATO Secret clearance or higher.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education
• Experience integrating SharePoint and Jira with other PMO/reporting tools (e.g., MS Project, Confluence, Power BI).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Adaptability to evolving PMO technologies and practices.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint Administrator, Atlassian Jira Administrator, or equivalent) preferred.
