A welcoming and supportive primary school in Isleworth (TW7) is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong background in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This full-time position is based within the school’s specialist ASD unit, with additional support required in mainstream classes depending on pupil needs.

Role Overview:

The SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils with ASD in both 1:1 and small group settings.

The role involves assisting with learning, communication, sensory needs, and social development.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to deliver inclusive learning experiences.

Responsibilities include contributing to behaviour regulation, implementing structured routines, and using appropriate communication or visual support strategies.

Collaboration with staff, families, and external professionals is an important part of the role.

Candidate Requirements:

Demonstrated experience working with children with ASD, ideally within a school or specialist provision.

Knowledge of communication approaches such as visual supports, PECS, structured teaching, or sensory strategies (desirable).

Ability to build positive, trusting relationships and provide consistent support.

Confidence working across different environments, including the ASD unit and mainstream classrooms.

Strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required (or willingness to obtain one).
