Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism?
Axcis Education is expanding our team of ASD specialist Teaching Assistants to support students in a specialist setting in Salford and Greater Manchester.
Working in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015), you will:
• Use evidence-based resources such as Boxall profile or Zones of regulation
• Help implement and review behaviour support plans
• Use accredited de-escalation strategies- from Team Teach
• Be aware of strategies such as emotion coaching and social stories
• Support emotional regulation and develop pupils’ social skills
• Work closely with class teachers, resource manager and external professionals
• Create a safe and supportive environment where pupils can thrive
• Help track progress and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
You’ll work in an inclusive and specialist setting that supports students aged 11-19, with and EHCP and a diagnosis of Autism (ASD)

We want to hear from you if you:
• Have at least two years’ experience working with children with ASD needs or behaviour that challenges
• Have knowledge of trauma-informed approaches (ACE’S) and emotional regulation strategies
• Have a calm, consistent and compassionate approach
• Can form strong relationships and build trust
• Have a background in education, mental health, youth work, or social care, residential care
NB: Candidates must have a *CHILD & ADULT DBS* or be willing to pay for one. For this role we cannot accept a *CHILD ONLY DBS*
