AV Engineer - South Yorkshire

Our client is a UK-based, specialist with a 20 year pedigree, the company delivers audiovisual services and software across hundreds of venues nationwide. With around 100–140 employees, it operates under two brands and supports more than 300,000 events annually. It’s consistently recognised for its people-centric culture.
As part of a team of AV Engineers you are the face of the company in the field. You lead installations, support AV services, and build trusted relationships with site teams. You also help shape how they deliver and maintain the technology, ensuring it’s ready for the moments that matter.
Role responsibilities
Preparation / Before going to site
• Maintain and replenish the kit in company vehicles, and take pride in keeping the vehicles clean and road-ready
• Assist with rack builds and prep at head office when needed
• Collaborate with our creative team to test and deliver content in the correct formats
• Support the launch of new features and help manage change for those impacted
Planning the work
• Conduct site surveys to assess equipment needs and plan improvements
• Help identify risks and issues, and contribute to solutions
• Maintain open communication with stakeholders across the business
Arriving on site / Starting the job
• Be the first field response to technical issues at sites in your areas, resolving problems with care and urgency
• Build strong relationships with customer-site staff, becoming a trusted point of contact for technical support
• Communicate clearly with venue staff and customers, demonstrating equipment and supporting future sales conversations
Carrying out the work
• Lead installations and upgrades, ensuring systems are set up to the Company’s standards and ready for use
• Train site staff on daily operations and basic system functionality, empowering them to deliver seamless services
• Support AV events at venues, ensuring smooth operation and high-quality delivery
Post work / Continuous improvement
• Document issues and feedback to help improve future solutions
• Provide feedback to developers, testers, and delivery teams to support product improvements
Additional responsibilities
• Offer support to the wider company team on quieter site days
Essential requirements for the role:
• Prior AV experience, especially with video and projection systems
• Experience with system setup, user training, and troubleshooting
• Ability to document procedures and train others effectively
• Basic skills in video editing, presentation creation, and Photoshop
• An eagerness to learn new technologies and expand your skill set
• A proactive and resourceful mindset, quick to identify issues and develop practical solutions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and compassionately
• Strong attention to detail in planning, execution, and quality assurance
• Willingness to travel regularly across the UK
• Full UK driving license
