KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary (CV21 – Rugby)
Location: Rugby (CV21)
Contract Type: Full-time – Long-term role in a single school
Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week
Axcis Education is working closely with a welcoming mainstream primary school in the CV21 area of Rugby, who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Key Stage 2 (KS2) with autism (ASD/ASC) and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
This is a long-term, full-time opportunity based at a single school, ideal for someone who values consistency and is passionate about supporting children with additional needs during their upper primary years.

The Role:
You will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to KS2 pupils with a diagnosis of ASD and/or communication challenges.
• Help pupils engage with learning by using structured routines, visual supports, and tailored resources.
• Use tools such as PECS, Makaton, now/next boards, and visual timetables to aid communication and understanding.
• Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement strategies aligned with pupils’ EHCPs.
• Support children’s emotional regulation, encourage social interaction, and promote independence in the classroom.
• Contribute to progress tracking and ensure a positive, inclusive classroom experience for the pupil(s) you support.

About You:
• Experience supporting children with autism and/or SLCN in a school or similar setting.
• Confident working in Key Stage 2, understanding the academic and emotional needs of pupils aged 7–11.
• Patient, empathetic, and consistent – with a passion for inclusive education.
• Familiarity with communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or similar is an advantage.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., TA Level 2/3, CACHE, or SEN-specific training) are helpful but not essential.
