Description
Our client is a well-established international bank with a strong presence in Guernsey. They are looking for an experienced Relationship Manager to take ownership of a growing portfolio of local clients.
This is a front-office role combining relationship management, business development and client service. The successful candidate will work closely with product specialists to provide suitable deposit, lending and investment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and develop a portfolio of existing local clients.
• Act as the main point of contact and provide a high standard of service.
• Identify new business opportunities through client and introducer relationships.
• Grow the portfolio through structured calling and cross-selling activity.
• Understand the bank’s financial targets and the commercial performance of the portfolio.
• Coordinate the onboarding of new clients and clearly present their risk profile.
• Complete periodic client risk reviews and ensure any KYC or AML shortfalls are addressed.
• Maintain a strong understanding of transaction monitoring, customer requests and onboarding procedures.
• Ensure all client activity complies with current regulations and internal policies.
• Support colleagues during particularly busy periods.
• Suggest practical improvements to processes and client service.
Skills and Experience
• At least five years’ experience in a front-office client relationship role or a comparable position.
• A proven record of achieving commercial targets and agreed objectives.
• Experience developing new and existing client relationships.
• Confidence undertaking sales activity, calling programmes and cross-selling initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong risk awareness and a compliance-focused approach.
• A proactive mindset, with the confidence to suggest new ideas and process improvements.
• Adaptability and a constructive approach to change.
