Description
1:1 Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 2 (Challenging Behaviour Support)
Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
Mainstream Primary School – Hounslow | Immediate Start
A supportive and inclusive mainstream primary school in Hounslow is seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work closely with a Key Stage 2 pupil who presents with challenging behaviour. This full-time role is ideal for someone with a strong background in behaviour management and a passion for helping children thrive, even in the face of emotional and behavioural difficulties.
The pupil may become physically aggressive when frustrated, so the successful candidate must be confident in managing high-pressure situations with calmness, consistency, and empathy. Building a trusting relationship and creating a safe, structured environment will be key to the child’s progress.
Key Requirements:
Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour, ideally in a school or similar setting
Behaviour management training (e.g., Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable
Ability to stay calm and maintain clear boundaries under pressure
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
Full-time availability: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in a child’s life within a well-resourced and welcoming school community.
To apply, please send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
