Description

Are you someone who enjoys supporting others and making a difference? Whether you're just starting out, changing careers or already have experience working with children, this could be the perfect step into education.

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Altrincham is currently looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join their support team. This role is open to people from all walks of life – youth workers, care professionals, psychology graduates or even those with voluntary experience helping children or young people. What matters most is your passion for helping pupils thrive, especially those who need additional behavioural or emotional support.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll work alongside classroom teachers and other support staff to provide calm and consistent support to pupils who may struggle to stay focused or regulate their emotions. You’ll play a vital part in helping children feel safe, respected and ready to learn.

You don’t need classroom experience – full training is provided, including CPD-accredited courses such as Team Teach, safeguarding, behaviour management, and SEND awareness. If you're enthusiastic, patient and open to learning, we’ll give you the skills and support you need to succeed.

Your day-to-day work may include supporting individuals or small groups with tasks, encouraging positive behaviour during lessons, and helping create a structured and nurturing classroom environment. You may work with children with needs such as ADHD, autism or social and emotional challenges. A strong sense of empathy, a calm approach and good communication skills are key to this role.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a future in teaching, special needs, social care, or child psychology. The experience you’ll gain will be invaluable—and the impact you’ll have will be immediate.

Positions are full-time during term-time, with starts available in September. Pay is competitive, up to £104 per day, and there's a £50 referral bonus if you recommend someone who also joins the team.

If you're ready to support children who need it most, and you're looking to start a rewarding new chapter in a local Trafford primary school, we'd love to hear from you.
