Axcis Education is working in partnership with a secondary school in South Bristol to recruit a full-time Behaviour Support Worker to join their pastoral team from September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people, particularly those who benefit from structure, high expectations, and targeted pastoral support.
The Role
You will play a key role in maintaining high behaviour standards across the school and providing consistent support to students who require additional pastoral care.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting the implementation of the school’s behaviour policy
• Managing a Referral Room to ensure a calm and supportive space for students
• Delivering 1:1 and small-group behaviour support interventions
• Acting as a mentor to identified pupils
• Working closely with the pastoral team and senior leaders
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with vulnerable or challenging young people
• Can confidently manage behaviour and de-escalate situations when needed
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Holds at least 3 GCSEs (including English at C/4 or above)
• Is resilient, empathetic, and motivated to make a lasting difference
Role Details
• Location: South Bristol (easily accessible by public transport)
• Start Date: September 2025
• Working Hours:
o Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:00
o Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
• Contract: Term-time only, permanent
• Salary: £23,220 – £24,773 per annum
