Job Type: Full-time, Ongoing
Start Date: Immediate
Are you a confident behaviour mentor, sports coach, or youth worker who knows how to connect with disengaged youth?
A primary school in Wythenshawe is looking for a resilient, positive role model to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil exhibiting challenging behaviours related to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Your Main Responsibilities:
• Acting as a dedicated 1:1 behaviour mentor, keeping the pupil engaged in learning.
• Utilizing de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviours and emotional outbursts.
• Designing and implementing positive reinforcement strategies and reward charts.
• Escorting the pupil during break times and helping them develop positive peer interactions.
• Providing a stable, consistent, and trusted presence throughout the school day.
What We Are Looking For:
• Extensive experience managing challenging behaviour (SEMH, ADHD, ODD) in schools, youth clubs, or care settings.
• Training in Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent de-escalation frameworks is a massive advantage.
• A thick skin, incredible patience, and the ability to bounce back every single day.
• A background in sports coaching, youth work, or psychology translates brilliantly here.
