BREEAM Assessor

Perfect Recruitment are currently working with a well-established independent sustainability and architectural consultancy to recruit a BREEAM Assessor to join their growing Energy & Sustainability team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about sustainable building design who enjoys working closely with design teams and clients to deliver high-quality environmental performance across a wide range of projects.
The role offers hybrid working, with a blend of time spent at the Blackburn office and working remotely.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in delivering sustainability and energy services across multiple projects and sectors, working closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading projects to deliver BREEAM assessments and Part L advice to clients and design teams
• Working across a variety of sectors and project types
• Preparing energy and sustainability statements for planning submissions
• Providing sustainability input during master planning stages
• Supporting contractors and consultants through the sustainability delivery process
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously, including workflow coordination and financial performance
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Keeping up to date with industry developments including net zero initiatives, LETI guidance and Building Regulations
• Potential line management responsibilities as the team continues to grow
• Potential involvement in embodied carbon Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) depending on experience
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines technical sustainability knowledge with strong project management and communication skills.
Key experience includes:
• Proven track record delivering successful BREEAM assessments, ideally achieving Very Good, Excellent or Outstanding ratings
• BREEAM Licensed Assessor
• BREEAM AP (advantageous but not essential)
• Experience or knowledge of schemes such as BREEAM, Home Quality Mark (HQM) and Part L
• Awareness of wider sustainability frameworks such as net zero carbon and NABERS
• Experience managing or contributing to energy and sustainability services on projects
• Knowledge of embodied carbon and Life Cycle Assessment (desirable)
• Comfortable working with multiple design teams and clients simultaneously
• Strong organisation skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A genuine passion for sustainability and the built environment
