Role: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Redbridge
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £15.50 – £16.50 per hour (PAYE)
Schedule: Monday – Thursday

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream college in Redbridge, working within a well-established SEND Department.
This is a highly rewarding role supporting students with low-level Autism (ASD) who are working at a younger developmental level, across 8 small, supportive classes.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting students with Autism (ASD) and additional needs including:
• ADHD
• Medical needs
• Challenging behaviour
• Providing 1:1 and small group support in the classroom
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement
• Working closely with teachers and SEND specialists
What We’re Looking For
• Experience with SEND is essential, either from:
• A school or college setting (highly desirable)
• AND/ OR a care background, supporting young adults with SEND
Minimum qualifications:
• GCSE Maths & English (Grade A–C / 4–9 or equivalent)
You must be:
• Comfortable with personal care requirements
• Confident managing challenging behaviour
• Patient, resilient, and committed to supporting SEND learners

This role involves hands-on support, including personal care and behaviour management.
