Here at Axcis Education, we are recruiting for full-time and part-time teaching assistants to work with students aged 11-16 with additional needs at a special needs secondary school in Preston (PR2).
The students in this school have a range of special needs such as autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Behaviour at this school can be challenging so we are looking for candidates that won't be phased by this.
Pay rates begin at £14.30 per hour and may increase depending on experience. Transport links are offered from Preston city centre and surrounding areas, and free parking is provided on site.
You will be required to work with the pupils in a range of lessons and support the teacher in the delivery of engaging activities. The role will start as soon as possible and candidates applying for this role must be available to work 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Strong communication skills, empathy and patience
• An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (if you do not have this, we can guide you through the process)
• Relevant experience OR a relevant qualification (such as psychology)
• A genuine desire to make a difference to young people’s lives
Those from backgrounds such as care, coaching, youth work and support work are also encouraged to apply.
