Description
Axcis Education are seeking a full-time complex needs teaching assistant, to work at a special school in Dawlish. The school have access to state of the art recourse's such as: agriculture gardens, a hydro pool, sensory rooms, fidget toys, forest schools and company cars for school trips. The successful candidate will be assisting the Teacher as well as supporting pupils with special educational and complex needs throughout the school day. As a SEND teaching assistant, you will be responsible for the emotional, behavioural, communication and general wellbeing of the children. You must also have good initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
ROLE:
- Supporting the class teacher with resourcing the lesson
-Encouraging and engaging pupils to take part in activities and adapt to their learning needs.
-Assisting children in class with their social and emotional needs
-Working in sensory rooms, outdoor learning, messy play activities
-Managing behaviour and de-escalating challenging situations
-Safeguarding all children in your care
-Moving across the school to various lessons, as well as assisting break and lunch duties.
-Covering other SEND teaching assistants who may be off
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST BE:
-Someone who can build relationships with children
-Be resilient and understand clear boundaries
-Be energetic, positive with a can-do attitude
-Willingness to support the team across the school
-Have experience in SEND
