A leading international life assurance and wealth solutions provider is seeking Compliance Monitoring Programme Analysts and Senior Analysts to join its Guernsey compliance function.
The successful candidates will deliver risk-based monitoring activity and provide independent assurance over the effectiveness of first-line controls. The roles are available at Analyst and Senior Analyst level, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver reviews under the approved Compliance Monitoring Programme.
• Test the design and operating effectiveness of controls across insurance business processes.
• Undertake thematic and sample-based reviews covering CDD, screening, sanctions and AML trigger events.
• Identify control weaknesses, regulatory risks and emerging issues.
• Maintain accurate working papers, evidence, sampling records and audit trails.
• Prepare clear reports with practical, risk-based recommendations.
• Track findings and support effective remediation.
• Assist with the review of internal suspicious activity reports and provide support to the MLRO.
• Contribute to compliance management information, policies and regulatory projects.
• Monitor relevant regulatory developments and escalate potential impacts.
• Build constructive relationships with first-line teams while providing appropriate challenge.
The Ideal Candidate
• At least three years’ experience within compliance, risk, AML, audit or quality assurance is preferred.
• Previous compliance monitoring, assurance or control-testing experience.
• Good knowledge of Guernsey’s regulatory environment and AML/CFT/CPF requirements.
• An understanding of CDD, sanctions screening and financial crime controls.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify control gaps and risk indicators.
• Clear report-writing and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Sound judgement, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to escalate material issues.
• A relevant professional qualification, such as an ICA Diploma, or progress towards one would be advantageous.
• Senior-level applicants should demonstrate greater independence, technical depth and experience managing more complex monitoring reviews.
