Our client is a premier offshore law firm with an ambitious and unique International Trusts and Private Client (ITPC) practice. The Opportunity
This is a senior-level appointment for an experienced lawyer to join a top-tier team in Guernsey. As Counsel, you will provide expert legal advice on complex Guernsey matters while playing a pivotal role in business development and the mentorship of junior colleagues. You will enjoy a high level of responsibility, working across multiple jurisdictions to support high-net-worth families, trust companies, and family offices.

Key Responsibilities:
• Technical Advisory: Provide expert legal advice on the establishment, management, and restructuring of offshore asset-holding structures, trusts, and foundations.
• Estate & Succession Planning: Advise on wider estate planning and ensure effective governance for families and trustees across generations.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and develop Associates and junior fee earners, ensuring effective delegation and high-quality work output.
• Business Development: Proactively build the practice by utilizing network connections, presenting proposals to intermediaries, and engaging in high-level networking.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Dispute Resolution and Corporate teams on trust-related disputes and private funds for private clients.
• Matter Management: Ensure all administrative tasks, including due diligence, billing, and time recording, are completed in accordance with internal procedures.

About You:
• Qualifications: You must hold a Solicitor or Barrister qualification, preferably from a common law jurisdiction.
• Experience: Ideally a minimum of eight years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) within a relevant practice, including offshore experience.
• Specialist Credentials: STEP qualification is required.
• Commercial Acumen: An excellent grasp of commercially focused matter management and financial performance.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead by example, mentor staff, and communicate a clear strategic vision.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional organization, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively under pressure.
