Job Title: Cover Supervisor – Primary School
Location: OL8
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Contract: Agency, term time only
Pay: From £13.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Axcis Education is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic cover supervisor to work within a welcoming primary school starting in January. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged, safe, and on task.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervising classes in line with lesson plans provided by the class teacher
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Supporting pupils with SEND to access learning effectively
• Ensuring a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
• Reporting back to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour
Essential Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children in a school setting
• Professional or personal experience supporting children with SEND
• Punctual, reliable, and well-organised
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• An enhanced child and adult DBS registered on the Update Service
Desirable:
• Experience working as a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant
• Knowledge of primary curriculum
