Axcis are pleased to be working with a fantastic mainstream secondary school in Taunton who are seeking an experienced cover supervisor to support on a full-time basis.
About the Role:
The role of a cover supervisor will involve teaching a range of subjects in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring continuity of learning, the engagement of pupils and the implementation of safeguarding and behaviour policies. This is a varied role which offers the opportunity to teach in a wide range of subject areas, but generally you can expect to be responsible for the following:
• Delivering engaging, pre-planned lessons to KS3 and 4 pupils.
• Implementing the school’s behaviour policy and collaborating with leadership to ensure all incidents are recorded and followed up.
• Using a range of differentiation techniques to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
• Follow the school’s safeguarding policy and pass any concerns onto the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Support with break and lunch duties.
• Monitor and record progress and feedback to class teacher and parents/carers.
Key Details:
Salary: £110 - £130 per day
Hours: 8.15am – 3.30pm
Contract Type: Full-time with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate.
