Job Title: Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools
Location: Stockport & Surrounding Areas
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible Supply
Salary: £90 – £120 per day (dependent on experience)
Are you confident, adaptable, and passionate about education? We are seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in a variety of secondary schools across Stockport and the surrounding areas from September 2025.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students stay on task and complete the set work. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or experienced educators looking to gain classroom experience and make a positive impact in secondary education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students remain engaged and focused
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress
- Support pupils with their learning where appropriate
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, youth work, coaching, mentoring) is desirable
- Strong classroom management skills
- A confident and professional attitude
- Flexibility to travel to schools in Stockport and nearby areas (e.g., Tameside, South Manchester, Cheshire)
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
