A leading independent provider of bespoke private wealth, corporate administration and yacht services is seeking an experienced tax professional to join their team as Director of Tax Services and Tax Compliance & Reporting. With offices across multiple jurisdictions, this organisation delivers comprehensive services to companies, individuals, and families worldwide.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the client tax compliance and reporting function across multiple jurisdictions. This includes ensuring adherence to all relevant tax obligations, reviewing client tax advice, and supporting operations by monitoring compliance needs. The role also involves developing and implementing internal tax policies, collaborating with senior management, and managing risk through effective audit and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns across the UK, Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man, and BVI.
• Manage other tax compliance obligations, including VAT, ATED, IHT returns, and offshore trust reporting.
• Lead tax audits and manage relationships with tax authorities.
• Set functional goals aligned with overall Group strategy to ensure high-quality specialised support.
• Collaborate with Directors and Relationship Partners to set fees and ensure profitability of the tax function.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team to achieve high performance.
• Provide training and updates on legislative changes across the organisation.
• Continuously improve internal policies and procedures in line with best practice.
About You
• Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) with a professional qualification such as CTA.
• 8–10 years’ progressive experience in tax compliance, with strong exposure to leadership roles.
• Expertise in UK company and trust tax is essential.
• Strong knowledge of relevant tax policies, procedures, and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
• Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Proactive and motivated, with a proven ability to implement improvements and influence stakeholders.
