Job Role: Teaching Assistant (Down Syndrome Support)
Location: Wandsworth, London
Pay: Paid to scale
Start Date: Monday 1st September
Contract: Full-time
Are you a patient, compassionate, and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one and group support for a pupil with Down syndrome in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wandsworth.
About the Role:
• Support the educational and social development of a pupil with Down syndrome
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning activities
• Promote independence and confidence in learning and daily routines
• Help create a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly Down syndrome, is highly desirable
• A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities for all pupils
