Description

Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant

Location: Prestwich, Greater Manchester

We are seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team at a vibrant and dynamic setting in Prestwich, Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and educational support to children aged 0-5 years.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and delivering a range of engaging learning activities under the guidance of the Early Years Teacher.
- Support the emotional and social development of children, encouraging positive behaviour and effective social interaction.
- Aid in assessing the needs of children and monitoring their progress, keeping thorough records and communicating developments to the Early Years Teacher.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment that complies with health and safety standards.
- Encourage children’s independence and self-confidence through praise, positive reinforcement, and nurturing interactions.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and carers to meet the children's needs effectively and foster their development.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and parent evenings as required.

Qualifications & Skills:
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children, particularly in early years settings.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to interact positively with young children, colleagues, and parents.
- Basic understanding of early years foundation stage (EYFS) framework and safeguarding procedures.
- A caring and patient personality with a passion for early years education.
- The ability to work well within a team as well as independently.
- Enhanced DBS clearance required.
