Axcis Education are working closely to support an alternative provision based near Torbay for students aged 8-16. The provision are looking for an English Specialist Teacher on a full time basis from September 2025. The hours are 9.00-16.00, with planning and assessment expectations. You will be paid against the Main Pay Scale for teachers. You must have Qualified Teacher status (QTS) for this position. This is a permanent position, or temp to perm, position.

The provision is a Devon-based Alternative Provision dedicated to helping young people who face significant barriers to education. Many of their learners have experienced trauma, have diagnosed or undiagnosed SEND, and present with social, emotional and mental health needs. The provision pride themselves on providing a safe, relational spaces where young people can re-engage, rebuild confidence, and exceed their own expectations.

The provision have a passionate and dedicated team, working collaboratively to inspire and support every learner, recognising and nurturing their unique potential.

What you can expect day-to-day:
-Teach up to three small-group lessons per day
-Be supported by experienced LSAs and Mentors in every session
-Time for planning, preparing, assessing, reporting, and professional development
-Collaborate with other staff and agencies to ensure holistic, joined-up support

The provision are looking for a maths teacher who:
-Are experienced in teaching students with SEMH or additional needs
-Can deliver flexible, personalised lessons with structure and creativity
-Inspire trust, build team commitment and engage learners through passion and clarity
-Remain calm, grounded, and relational in moments of challenge
-Use evidence-informed pedagogy and responsive planning
-Are reflective and aspirational for their students and themselves
-Contribute to curriculum development and believe in continuous improvement
-Want to work in a team that prioritises wellbeing, growth, and meaningful impact
