Secondary School Teaching Assistant – Tameside
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Classroom-Based Support
Are you passionate about supporting young people in education? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Tameside is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
This full-time, long-term role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a classroom setting, providing both 1:1 and small group support to students across KS3 and KS4. You will be helping pupils with reading, writing, and overall curriculum engagement, particularly those with varied learning difficulties such as Autism, ADHD, and moderate learning needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom-based support under the direction of the class teacher
- Assist students in accessing the curriculum, especially with literacy tasks
- Support pupils with a range of learning difficulties to achieve their potential
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience supporting children or young people in an educational or care setting
- A calm, patient, and flexible approach to working with SEN
- Strong communication and literacy skills
- A passion for helping students develop both academically and personally
