We are actively looking for a Teaching Assistant to assist with the delivery of Food Technology supporting in a secondary provision in Torbay who welcome students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. If you have a passion for food technology and supporting students with complex needs and who may have low self-esteem and confidence, this could be the perfect role for you.
Key Information
•Pay: £95–£115 per day, depending on SEND experience and qualifications
•Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 16.00
•Start Date: November 2nd 2026
•Job Type: Permanent (Temp to Perm).
About the Role
•Your role will be to assist the food technology teacher with the delivery of food technology lessons.
•Assisting the class teacher with preparation and planning.
•Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
•Helping to create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment
•Creating positive, trusting relationships with students.

•This Torbay-based school supports students aged 11–16 whose needs cannot be met in mainstream education. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) related to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
