SEMH Teaching Assistant
Hindley | Axcis Education | £95+ per day | 8:30am–3:30pm
Job Summary
Axcis Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants for a small secondary SEMH school in Hindley. The school supports pupils with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs.
This role would suit someone who is confident managing challenging behaviour, keeping pupils engaged in learning and calmly supporting emotional dysregulation and triggers.
Key responsibilities:
• Support pupils with complex SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Keep pupils engaged and focused on learning.
• Manage behaviour calmly and consistently.
• Recognise and respond appropriately to triggers and emotional dysregulation.
• Build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider school team.
Essential requirements:
• Experience supporting complex SEMH or behavioural needs is essential.
• Confidence working with secondary-aged pupils.
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
• Reliable ability to commute to Hindley.
• Availability from 8:30am–3:30pm.
