They are currently seeking a high-caliber leader to steer their client accounting function into its next chapter of operational excellence.
The Role
Operating at a senior leadership level, the Head of Client Accounting will drive departmental strategy, optimize financial processes, and align the team’s outputs with long-term business objectives. Reporting directly to the COO, this pivotal position oversees financial reporting and tax compliance for a complex portfolio of approximately 850 entities, including trusts, corporate structures, and funds.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Leadership: Manage and supervise cross-jurisdictional accounting and bookkeeping teams. Mentor staff, set KPIs, and manage performance to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Financial Reporting: Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, quarterly net asset reports, and loan interest certificates under IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 102).
• Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Oversee the review and submission of all Guernsey Tax, UK Corporation Tax, and VAT returns. Manage regulatory filings including FATCA, CRS, and Economic Substance in strict adherence to GFSC and Guernsey Revenue Services rules.
• Audit & Governance: Lead the external audit process for GFSC-regulated clients to meet strict regulatory deadlines. Implement robust governance frameworks and deploy modern digital accounting tools to mitigate risk and drive efficiency.
Skills, Competencies & Experience
• Professional Qualification: Fully qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
• Fiduciary Expertise: A deep, authoritative understanding of client accounting principles specifically within the trust and corporate services sector.
• Proven Leadership: A tracked record of successfully managing, up-skilling, and leading financial teams.
• Meticulous Execution: High attention to detail with the communication and collaboration skills necessary to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
