Stage 1 (In person): Thursday 16 February afternoon & Friday 17 February all day
Stage 2 (In person): Tuesday 24 February all day

A newly created role has arisen for an experienced and values-driven Head of HR to join a leading organisation within the Performing Arts sector. This is a senior, hands-on role that combines strategic HR leadership with operational delivery, supporting a diverse workforce in a dynamic, creative environment.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping organisational culture, ensuring excellent people management, and embedding inclusive, compliant and effective HR practices across the full employee lifecycle.

The Role

As Head of HR, you will:
Develop and deliver an HR business plan aligned to organisational strategy
Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, managers and staff
Lead on all aspects of HR generalism, including recruitment, employee relations, organisational change and payroll oversight
Balance staff wellbeing and engagement with robust governance, compliance and risk management
Work closely with colleagues responsible for Inclusion, Skills and Operations to ensure training, wellbeing and people management capability are embedded across the organisation
Provide insightful reporting to senior leadership and Board level, highlighting risks, trends and solutions
Manage HR budgets, remuneration frameworks, pay benchmarking and benefits

The role includes occasional evening or out-of-hours attendance for rehearsals, press nights and events, with a TOIL system in place.

You will bring:
Substantial senior HR experience, ideally in a creative or arts-based environment
Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practice, organisational design and change
Confidence managing complex and sensitive employee relations cases
Experience developing HR strategy, business plans, policies and reporting frameworks
A clear commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in HR practice
Excellent interpersonal skills, discretion and professional judgement
CIPD Level 5 or 7 qualification (or equivalent experience)

You will be collaborative, pragmatic, highly organised and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, people-centred organisation.
