Day Rate: £105+ per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) BL1
Contract Type: Full Time / Part Time / Long Term / Short Term / Flexible
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Start Date: ASAP / After Easter
Location: Greater Manchester area

We are currently seeking experienced and adaptable HLTAs to support pupils with additional needs within inclusive educational settings.

This role is ideal for professionals passionate about removing barriers to learning and promoting meaningful participation, independence and social inclusion.

You will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, working collaboratively with teaching staff and SENCOs to deliver tailored support in line with EHCPs and the SEND Code of Practice.

About the Role
As an HLTA, you will support learners by adapting teaching approaches, encouraging independence and helping to create an inclusive environment where all pupils can succeed. You will take a strengths-based approach, enabling pupils to engage confidently in both academic and social aspects of school life.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Remove barriers to learning, participation and engagement
• Implement EHCP strategies and personalised support plans
• Adapt learning materials and classroom activities to meet individual needs
• Support communication, emotional regulation and social interaction
• Promote independence, confidence and positive peer relationships
• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals
• Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Ideal Candidate Profile
We welcome applications from candidates who:
• Have experience working as an HLTA or SEND Teaching Assistant
• Have supported pupils with a range of additional needs (including complex needs)
• Understand inclusive education practices
• Are confident adapting learning and behaviour strategies
• Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Are passionate about supporting pupil progress and independence
Experience across mainstream schools, SEND settings, alternative provisions or specialist units is highly desirable.
