Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Oldham, Greatert Manchester
Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Term-time only
Salary: £105.00 to £130.00 per day, experiance dependant
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for an experienced TA ready to take on greater responsibility, including leading learning, covering lessons, and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with class teachers and senior leaders to plan, deliver, and assess learning activities across the curriculum, ensuring a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver planned learning activities and occasionally lead whole-class sessions
• Cover classes during teacher absence, ensuring continuity of learning
• Support planning, preparation, and assessment of pupil progress
• Provide targeted interventions for individuals and small groups
• Support pupils with a range of needs, including SEND
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate
• Holds HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience
• Has strong curriculum knowledge (EYFS, KS1 or KS2 depending on setting)
• Confident managing a classroom and leading learning independently
• Calm, adaptable, and proactive
• Passionate about inclusion and pupil progress
