HR Manager
Central London
Hybrid (3 days office, 2 days home)
Salary: £70,000–£74,000 + 10% Performance Bonus
A major international sporting organisation is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join its team in Central London. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a high-quality HR service within a fast-paced, global events environment, while helping shape an engaging employee experience and supporting the delivery of world-class sporting events.
This position combines strategic HR responsibilities with operational delivery, offering the opportunity to influence people initiatives, enhance HR processes, and support workforce planning for major international events.
The Role:
As HR Manager, you will lead the delivery of HR services for a central employee population, driving best practice across the employee lifecycle while partnering with internal stakeholders to develop an inclusive and engaging employee experience.
You will also play an important role in workforce planning for major tournaments and events, supporting HR operations, systems, and processes across multiple host locations.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Services
Lead end-to-end recruitment for central office employees.
Provide expert HR support across employee relations, compensation and benefits, talent planning, learning and development, and employment law.
Drive employee engagement initiatives and enhance the overall employee experience.
Design and deliver an engaging onboarding programme for new starters.
Manage an annual work experience and apprenticeship programme.
Partner with the wider global HR function to ensure alignment on HR systems, payroll, policies, and processes.
Support broader HR projects and initiatives within a dynamic and evolving environment.
Workforce & Event Support
Support the implementation of HR systems and processes for major international events across multiple host nations.
Maintain accurate workforce records and ensure confidentiality within HR systems.
Manage relationships with external HR partners and specialist service providers, overseeing contracts, renewals, budgets, and performance.
Support HR operations across international event locations, including workforce planning and onboarding activities.
Travel & Operations
Assist with coordinating travel, accommodation, and accreditation arrangements for employees and key event personnel in line with organisational standards.
About You
You'll be an experienced HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment and thrives on balancing strategic projects with operational delivery.
Essential Experience
At least five years' HR experience within a fast-paced organisation.
Experience managing employees across a variety of employment types.
Proven experience delivering complex projects or programmes.
Strong knowledge of HR and payroll systems.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
Desirable
Experience supporting HR delivery for major sporting or large-scale multi-site events.
Experience implementing or introducing new HR systems.
Skills & Attributes
Excellent planning, organisation, and project management skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working across multiple priorities.
Collaborative and relationship-focused with excellent communication skills.
High levels of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
Self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail.
