Our established client based in Staines who is a small friendly freight forwarder are looking to recruit an experienced operations assistant for the department
Role Duties would include : Handling day to day shipments including Customer Quotations & service requests
Previous freight forwarding knowledge is required
• Preparing of Quotations for Deliveries and Overseas Freight rates, for all
modes of logistics
• Import Air, Road or Ocean Experience
• Experience dealing with 3rd party suppliers, Airlines, Hauliers etc
• Being point of contact for new and existing customers
• Ensuring suppliers rates are competitive
• Dealing with overseas agents
• Import Customs Entries
• Knowledge of shipping documents for all modes of transport, AWB , Bill of Lading, CMR Etc
Additional Knowledge is an advantage • Export Customs entries• Export Operations• Supplier Negotiations • Warehouse Admin Operations Knowledge• Dangerous Goods Handling
** BOXTOP & ECustoms /Descartes experience would be an advantage **
Personal Attributes required
• Effective Communicator with Current Industry Standard Requirements.
• Self motivated with a desire to succeed.
• Proven organisational skills.
• Good task/ time management skills will be required. Ability to work to deadlines and priorities will be required.
• Sound attention to detail skills will be required.
• Excellent Internal and External Communication skills.
• Good Computer Skills
• Good phone rapport with customers, confident
• Team player, who can prioritise workload
Role is varied and would suit someone wishing to further their Knowledge of Freight Industry
Hours Monday to Friday
Salary up to 30K subject to experience
