A welcoming mainstream primary school in Urmston is looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from January. This is a full-time role supporting children across Key Stage 1, helping them to learn, feel confident, and enjoy school life.
The ideal candidate will be warm, patient, and committed to supporting young learners. While school-based experience is beneficial, the school is open to applicants with any strong prior experience of working with children—such as nursery work, tutoring, youth groups, sports coaching, or similar roles.
What we’re looking for:
-Experience working with children (not necessarily in a school, but beneficial)
-A positive, nurturing approach
-Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
-Reliability, patience, and a genuine passion for helping young children succeed
-A valid DBS or willingness to obtain one
Your responsibilities will include:
-Supporting children across KS1, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis where needed
-Helping the class teacher deliver engaging and accessible lessons
-Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting pupil wellbeing
-Assisting with learning activities, phonics, and early literacy/numeracy
-Creating a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment
