Description
Location: Taunton & Surrounding Areas
Pay: £92.00 – £109.00 per day
Contract: Flexible / Supply | Term Time Only
Hours: Typically 8:30am – 3:30pm
We're recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Flexible Teaching Assistants to support primary, secondary and specialist schools across Taunton and the surrounding areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking for rewarding work that can fit around childcare, studies, hobbies or other responsibilities. You can let us know when you're available, giving you greater flexibility over when you work.
What will you be doing?
No two days are exactly the same! You could be supporting pupils in a primary classroom, working with young people in a secondary school or gaining experience within a specialist SEND setting.
Your role may include:
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Helping children and young people access their learning
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence
• Providing social and emotional support
• Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff
Who are we looking for?
Previous Teaching Assistant experience isn't essential. We're keen to hear from people with experience supporting children or young people through:
• Care or support work
• Youth work or mentoring
• Coaching
• Childcare
• Volunteering
• Tutoring or community activities
The most important qualities are reliability, patience, adaptability and a genuine interest in supporting young people.
Why choose flexible work?
• Choose the days you're available to work
• School hours only — no evenings or weekends
• Gain experience across different schools and age groups
• Build valuable classroom and SEND experience
• Work around your existing commitments
• Opportunities to progress into longer-term and permanent positions
Flexible work can be an excellent stepping stone for anyone considering a career in teaching, psychology, youth work or SEND, or for those who want to gain experience before committing to a permanent role.
Access to your own transport is preferred, as opportunities may be available across Taunton and the surrounding areas.
If you're looking for meaningful work with flexibility and the opportunity to build your experience, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today to join our team of Flexible Teaching Assistants supporting schools across Taunton and the surrounding areas.
