Learning Support Assistant Opportunities – Specialist & Mainstream Further Education

Location: Morden, SM4

We are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants for two exciting opportunities within Further Education settings in Morden, supporting students aged 16 to 25.

Role 1: Specialist FE Provision

Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm (Term Time Only)

Join a specialist, non residential FE provision supporting young adults with autism, moderate to severe learning disabilities, and complex needs. Working in small classes of 6 to 9 learners, you will provide one to one and small group support, helping students develop independence, communication, employability, and life skills as they prepare for adulthood.

Role 2: Mainstream FE College

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm (Term Time Only)

We are also seeking Learning Support Assistants to work within a mainstream Further Education college, supporting students with additional needs as they study vocational subjects. You could be supporting learners in areas such as Construction, Catering, Hair and Beauty, Media, Business, Motor Vehicle, or other practical courses, helping them access learning, remain engaged, and achieve their qualifications.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide one to one and small group support.
• Encourage confidence, independence, and participation.
• Support students with additional needs throughout the college day.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and practical learning.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for learners.

• Experience supporting children or young adults with SEND, or transferable experience from care, youth work, or similar settings.
• A patient, positive, and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.
