Learning Support Assistant
Bath
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (term time only)
Why Work With Us?
Join a nurturing and specialist educational setting in Bath that supports children and young people aged 4 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This small, therapeutic school environment is designed for those who have found mainstream education challenging. With a relationship-led approach, staff focus on building safety, trust, and consistency—ensuring every learner is respected, supported, and seen.
Your Role:
• Offer one-to-one and small group support to help students access learning and achieve personal goals.
• Lead and assist with creative, practical, and sensory-based activities that build confidence and engagement.
• Use trauma-informed and relational strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, liaising with teachers, therapists, families, and external professionals to meet each pupil’s EHCP outcomes.
Who You Are:
• Experienced in supporting children with SEMH, SEND, or complex needs—ideally in an alternative provision or specialist setting.
• Calm, consistent, and grounded in your approach, even when challenges arise.
• Skilled at building positive relationships and creating safe learning spaces.
• Bonus if you have experience in the arts, outdoor learning, youth work, or therapeutic practice.
What You’ll Get:
• A close-knit, student-centred setting with high levels of pastoral care and strong team collaboration.
• An education model rooted in empathy, boundaries, and individual progress.
• Ongoing training and development to grow your skills in specialist education and trauma-informed practice.
• The opportunity to be part of a dedicated team transforming lives through consistent relationships and tailored support.
If you're motivated to help young people grow in a setting that values empathy, structure, and creativity, we'd love to hear from you.
