Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Taunton
Pay Rate: £92.00 – £109.00 per day
Job Type: Full-time – Term Time Only (Temporary or Long-term)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are looking for a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Taunton, supporting pupils to achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dedicated setting that supports students with a range of complex needs, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role:
You will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning and manage daily routines. The role will involve a mixture of 1:1 support and small group intervention work, helping students build confidence, communication skills, independence, and positive relationships.
You will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide a structured and engaging learning environment tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
• Deliver small group interventions to reinforce learning and life skills
• Support communication, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs
• Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider support teams
• Promote safeguarding, care, and inclusion at all times
