SEND Learning Support Assistant
Location: Chessington
Salary: £92.63 per day (PAYE starting rate)
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am-3:30pm
Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school in the Chessington area.
About the role:
You will work with students aged 9–19 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), many of whom have additional needs such as mild to moderate Autistic Spectrum Disorders, language impairments, or emotional challenges. Your support will help students access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive academically and socially.
Class sizes are small, typically 8–10 students, allowing you to provide meaningful, individual support without the need for full-time 1:1 supervision. You will assist in a range of activities including:
• Supporting students during lessons, particularly in English and Maths
• Helping with social, emotional, and behavioural development
• Assisting with life skills, travel training, and work experience programmes
• Contributing to enrichment activities and after-school clubs
