Axcis Education is supporting the SENDCo of a mainstream Primary school in the Lozells area of Birmingham. The SENDCo manages the resource of hub the school which specializes in supporting young children with complex needs, the hub can accommodates 8-10 children at any time. The SENDCo currently has a vacancy for Level 3 qualified support assistant within the resource hub.

The perfect candidate will not only hold a level 3 qualification in a relatable field but also have prior experience in working with individuals with complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will work on a 1:1 or small group (2-3) basis with specific children.

The children within the resource hub have Complex SEND needs, including, delayed speech, language and communication and sensory dysregulation. Due to these needs they can also display challenging behaviour from the frustrations of not understanding the world around them but even more so, the world not understanding them.

Job details:
• Supporting pupils with complex SEND needs
• Working on a one to one and small group basis
• Full time (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
• Ongoing basis, starting January 2026, and going through to July 2026 (highly likely to return in September 2026)

Requirements:
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relatable subject/sector - Essential
• Experience of working with pupils with complex SEND needs - Essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
• Minimum of 2 good references – Essential
