The role
Our client is seeking an experienced compliance professional to join their Fund Services team in Guernsey. Working with the Senior Manager – Compliance (who holds responsibility for company’s entities in Guernsey), the Manager will provide guidance to business stakeholders on compliance matters, support compliance monitoring and regulatory projects, and help ensure adherence to internal policies and relevant regulatory and legislative requirements. Key responsibilities include liaising with the regulator/FIU; assisting with regulatory inspections and filings; maintaining compliance manuals and registers; delivering AML/CFT monitoring and training; acting as a Compliance Signatory where required; supporting the Operational Business Risk Assessment and compliance monitoring programmes; and contributing to board and committee reporting.
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ industry-related experience, preferably with at least 3 years’ experience in a Compliance department; ideally candidates will have a minimum of seven years’ relevant experience.
• Preferred professional certification in compliance (for example, ICA).
• Advanced knowledge of the investment services sector and strong understanding of corporate, trust and fund structures.
• In-depth knowledge of Guernsey legal and regulatory requirements, particularly the AML/CFT framework.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
• Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills, business acumen and high professional ethics.
• Practical IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Experience of managing or supporting team members, delivering training and participating in appraisal processes.
