Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and informative maths lessons that cater to the needs of all pupils.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that recognises and addresses SEMH needs and trauma-informed profiles.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Employ strategies to foster positive behaviours and a constructive classroom culture.
- Collaborate with other teachers, professionals, and parents to support student’s educational and emotional wellbeing.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events.
- Stay updated with changes and developments in the curriculum, teaching resources, and methods.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as reasonably requested by the school management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Experienced in teaching mathematics at secondary school level.
- Proficiency in delivering the maths curriculum effectively to students with SEMH needs and trauma-informed profiles.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues, engage students and communicate with families.
- A proactive and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
