Location: Pilning, South Gloucestershire
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Start: Immediate
Contract: Initially 16 weeks, with the opportunity to become permanent
Are you a Music graduate looking for a rewarding career where creativity, empathy and communication can make a genuine difference?
Axcis Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 5–18 with autism, learning disabilities and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a specialist school in South Gloucestershire.
Why is this opportunity ideal for Music graduates?
Music is a powerful way to connect with people. Your understanding of rhythm, listening, expression and creativity can help children communicate, regulate their emotions and build confidence.
For pupils who find verbal communication challenging, music can offer an alternative way to express themselves, develop relationships and engage with learning. Your creativity and patience could make a lasting difference.
Discover a unique learning environment
This specialist setting provides personalised education for autistic pupils, with a curriculum designed around individual abilities and developmental stages rather than simply age.
Its latest Ofsted inspection in June 2025 awarded the school Good overall, with Outstanding judgements for behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
Inspectors highlighted its warm relationships, calm and friendly environment, therapeutic support and carefully designed spaces that help pupils develop emotional regulation. They also praised its individualised approach to SEND and the extensive opportunities for wider personal development.
What makes a great Teaching Assistant?
Previous school experience is not essential. We are looking for someone who is:
• Patient, compassionate and emotionally resilient.
• Creative, enthusiastic and approachable.
• Adaptable and confident building relationships.
• Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people.
• Motivated by helping others achieve their potential.
Your personality, values and willingness to make a difference matter more than experience.
Apply today to be considered for this role.
