Nursery Teacher (QTS) – Monday Only – Full Academic Year

Location: Elmbridge
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Salary: £150-£180 per day
Contract: Part-Time (Every Monday, Term Time Only)

Are you a passionate and experienced Nursery Teacher looking for a part-time teaching opportunity that offers consistency, support, and the chance to make a real difference in early years education?

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Nursery Teacher to join our friendly Early Years team every Monday throughout the full academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EYFS practitioner who enjoys creating engaging learning experiences and helping young children thrive during their crucial early years.

The successful candidate will attend the INSET Day on 1st September to ensure a smooth transition into the role and become fully integrated within the school community.

The Role

As the Nursery Teacher, you will lead a well-supported Nursery class of children aged 3-5 years old. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality EYFS provision, supporting children's learning and development through play-based activities, and maintaining a warm, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

Working hours are 7:45am – 4:30pm each Monday, allowing time for preparation, record keeping, and classroom organisation. There is no marking required as part of this role.

Nursery Environment:
Nursery class currently has 26 children, with numbers expected to increase
Age range: 3-5 years
Teacher supported by 3 support staff within the classroom
Inclusive setting with children of varying needs and abilities
One child currently has high-level SEN needs and is non-verbal, supported by a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Nappy changing duties form part of the role

A Typical Nursery Day:
Arrival and settling activities
Child-initiated choosing time
Carpet sessions and focused teaching
Snack time
Indoor and outdoor learning opportunities
Lunch provision within the Nursery setting
Story time and end-of-day reflection

The Nursery follows a child-centred approach where play, exploration, language development, and social interaction are at the heart of learning.

Requirements

Essential:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching within a Primary School Nursery
Strong knowledge and practical experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Understanding of child development and early learning
Ability to work effectively as part of a wider Early Years team
