Description

Are you looking for meaningful work where you can make a real difference every day? Do you want to help young people with additional needs gain confidence, independence and life skills? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.

About the role:

We’re looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic College Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision for students aged 16+ with complex learning needs, autism, SEMH, physical disabilities and learning disabilities.
You’ll support students in all aspects of their day – from learning and communication to developing independence and social skills. Some students require help with personal care, so confidence and sensitivity in this area is essential.

Key details:

• Start date: ASAP
• Hours: 3 days per week, 9.00 am – 4.00 pm
• Pay: £13.70 per hour
• Contract: Temporary to permanent (after a 16-week settling-in period)

About the setting:

You’ll be based within a well-established college pathway designed for young people with complex needs who are preparing for adulthood. The programme focuses on independence, community inclusion and practical skills for everyday life.

The college has been recognised by Ofsted for its strong commitment to helping learners with high needs develop confidence, independence and employability in a caring, well-resourced environment. Staff are praised for their genuine relationships with students and their focus on personal growth as much as academic progress.

Who we’re looking for:

We believe the right person is more important than the perfect CV. You might be a teaching assistant, support worker, youth worker, sports coach, or graduate looking for purposeful part-time work. What matters most is your personality, motivation and values.

We’d love to hear from people who are:

• Patient, kind and encouraging
• Passionate about supporting inclusion and diversity
• Comfortable providing personal care
• Eager to learn and make a difference

This is a rewarding role for someone who wants to see the direct impact of their support on a young person’s development and confidence.

If you’re ready to join a supportive team and start a fulfilling role helping young people thrive — apply today to be considered for this opportunity.
