Payroll & HR Administrator
Salary: £35,000
Based: Watford
Fully on-site (with some flexibility after probation)

Are you an experienced Payroll & HR professional looking for a varied and people-focused role? We’re seeking a Payroll & HR Administrator to play a key part in supporting this dynamic HR team and ensuring smooth, accurate, and compliant payroll and HR processes across the employee lifecycle.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive mindset to make a real impact within a busy HR function.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll & Reporting:
Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries
Manage the payroll inbox and coordinate monthly and 4-weekly payroll runs with the external payroll provider
Ensure all payroll-impacting changes (absence, maternity, holidays, etc.) are processed accurately
Maintain data accuracy in Planday (Payroll & HR system)
Produce HR/payroll reports and ad hoc data requests as required
Verify employee hours, breaks, and holiday accruals

Compliance:
Maintain up-to-date and compliant right-to-work documentation
Accurately manage employee starter and leaver records
Ensure payroll compliance throughout onboarding and offboarding processes
Employee Lifecycle & HR Support
Support onboarding, leaver processing, and changes to terms and conditions
Conduct monthly right-to-work audits
Respond to reference and general employee queries
Provide first-line HR advice to managers
Assist with HR projects, process improvements, and automation initiatives

Skills & Experience:
roven experience supporting end-to-end payroll processes (monthly and 4-weekly)
Strong administrative, organisational, and time-management skills
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Confident communicator, both written and verbal
Trustworthy and discreet when handling sensitive information
Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
CIPD Level 3 qualified (or working towards)
Advanced Excel skills
