We are currently recruiting a passionate and experienced PMLD Teacher to join a fantastic specialist SEND provision in Lambeth. This setting caters to a mixed cohort of students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), with a strong focus on personalised, sensory-based learning.
About the Role:
Full-time, hands-on teaching role
Students aged 11–19, many non-verbal
Use of PECS, Makaton, and alternative communication methods
Adapted primary-level curriculum focused on independence, communication, numeracy and literacy for life
Sensory learning and community-based activities
Class includes students with physical needs – hoisting experience required
School hours: 8:45am–4:00pm
Valid child & adult DBS required
Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
Previous experience teaching students with PMLD
Confident with sensory integration, non-verbal communication methods, and personal care
Creative, adaptable, and enthusiastic with a strong passion for inclusive education
